RM of Golden West’s story
The Rural Municipality of Golden West No. 95 sits in the southeast part of Saskatchewan. It was incorporated as a rural municipality on December 13, 1909.
Agriculture is the RM's major industry. Corning, an organized hamlet, is home to the municipal office, and the RM also includes the localities of Gapview and Handsworth. The Ocean Man First Nation lies next to the municipality.
The Canadian Pacific Railway once ran through the area, though that line has since been abandoned. Today Highways 47, 616, 701 and 711 serve the RM.
